People often look to others to take their cue for how they should be. Sometimes we do this to make excuses for ourselves, to take the easy way out or because we’re lost and simply don’t know how to be. If you are not comfortable with the version of you which you’re presenting to others or if you find yourself being critical or judgemental of how others are being, perhaps explore what standards you have set for yourself around who you want to be and assess whether you are living up to them.
Rather than be like everyone else, focus on being the best version of yourself.
Take a moment to ask yourself:
What example am I setting for those around me?
How am I being a positive influence for others?
In what ways can I help others by taking responsibility for my own thoughts, emotions and actions?
There is only one version of you. You are unique and you matter. Perhaps the time has come to stop second guessing yourself and acknowledging there is a quality about you, that is strong within you, that others lack. And by being you, by setting the example and the standard for that quality you can positively impact and influence others to become a better version of themselves.
Explore what gift you have to offer others and be mindful of the gifts others can share with you.
